RS lacks 80 million KM monthly for current obligations and will go bankrupt without loans

At the end of March, Republika Srpska had 207 million KM in unpaid current obligations, while it had only 127 million KM available to settle these obligations, i.e., 80 million marks less, writes Capital.ba, as reported by Patria.
The largest portion of unpaid current obligations referred to obligations from March 2016 that were calculated in that month and paid in April 2015.

- The most significant amounts relate to salaries, pensions, disability benefits, and veterans' allowances for March 2016 - stated in the Consolidated Report on Budget Execution.

The budget deficit is evident, and the Government lacks nearly double the funds to settle all due obligations.

- Regarding the structure of these obligations, it is difficult to say whether this is debt for salaries and pensions, given that these are regularly settled. I fear these are obligations to suppliers and all other obligations except salaries and pensions - said economist Predrag Duduković.

He stated that RS is clearly in major financial trouble and that these obligations have a tendency to grow, as nothing special is happening to start reducing this debt.

- These obligations will likely grow from month to month until some credit borrowing is taken - said Duduković.
