Hearing on the Prosecution's Motion for Detention of Radončić on Friday, March 4

At the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, March 4, starting at 12:00 PM, a hearing will be held on the motion of the BiH Prosecutor's Office for the detention of Fahrudin Radončić, president of the Union for a Better Future and delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

We recall, Radončić was arrested on January 25 for obstructing the work of the judiciary, and was released on February 17 to house arrest with restrictive measures.

The Court of BiH rejected the appeals of the BiH Prosecutor's Office to return Fahrudin Radončić, president of the Union for a Better Future and delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, to detention because he violated the imposed restrictive measures, as well as the appeals of Radončić's legal team against certain restrictive measures.

Therefore, the Prosecutor's Office submitted a motion for detention, because, as stated by this institution, the measure of detention is an effective means of ensuring the presence of suspects and convicted persons.

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina on February 5, 2016, filed an indictment against Fahrudin Radončić, Bakir Dautbašić, Bilsena Šahman, and Zijad Hadžijahić.

- The aforementioned persons are charged with, among other things, organizing and becoming members of an organized group of people, which was organized and led by Fahrudin Radončić, and through their actions, mutual agreements, and interconnected activities, in the period from December 14, 2015, to January 12, 2016, committed criminal offenses:

Fahrudin Radončić, criminal offenses of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Obstruction of the Work of the Judiciary (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and Giving a Reward or Other Form of Benefit for Influence Peddling (Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH);

Bakir Dautbašić, criminal offenses of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Obstruction of the Work of the Judiciary (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and Giving a Reward or Other Form of Benefit for Influence Peddling (Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH);

Bilsena Šahman, criminal offense of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH) and Obstruction of the Work of the Judiciary (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH); and

Zijad Hadžijahić, criminal offenses of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Obstruction of the Work of the Judiciary (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and Giving a Reward or Other Form of Benefit for Influence Peddling (Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH).

The allegations from the indictment and the guilt of the aforementioned persons will be proven by the prosecutor through the hearing of 27 witnesses, findings of four expert witnesses, and the submission of more than 160 pieces of material evidence. (av)
