(Patria) - The KS Prosecutor's Office requested pre-trial detention for Ibro Miladin from the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, arrested after a shooting that occurred on June 20 near the Europa Hotel in Sarajevo when Timur Keketović was wounded. Detention was requested due to the risk that, if at liberty, he might repeat or complete the criminal offense. As reported by Oslobođenje, no prosecutor from the KS Prosecutor's Office appeared at the hearing to explain the motion for detention.
Miladin, who is charged with causing general danger and inflicting serious bodily harm, stated in court today that he regretted the shooting, but also that he was "in danger".
"Keketović hit my acquaintance who was sitting with me at the same table. I saw they were armed, and we all know who those people are. I was in danger. And it is not true that there were graduating students there. When it happened, no one was there, it was not my intention to cause danger," said Miladin.
Miladin's lawyer, Senad Kreho, stated that there is video surveillance showing all the details.
"The recordings were seized, and they show Nermin Solaković arriving on a motorcycle with Timur Keketović, approaching the table where my client was sitting, and hitting his acquaintance. Before that, he politely greeted Miladin," explained Kreho, stating that everything is contrary to what the KS Prosecutor's Office claims in its motion.
Kreho also stated that his client has no prior convictions, is a father of four children, and legally owned a weapon. He also addressed the KS Prosecutor's Office's claim that Solaković is in fear and afraid to reveal the suspect.
"He gave a statement but did not express any fear. The prosecutor mentions graduating students, who were indeed nearby, but there was no intent on my client's part. If you detain my client, you will put his life at risk," emphasized lawyer Kreho.
The shooting occurred on June 20 in Zelenih beretki Street in the garden of the City pub, preceded by a conflict between several individuals, including Keketović and Miladin. Doctors determined Keketović sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and he was admitted to the Orthopedics Clinic for further treatment, while Nermin Solaković was released for home treatment after receiving medical attention.
