(Patria) - Left-wing political leader Robert Fico has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Slovakia for a four-year term.
This marks his fourth return to power after he advocated during the election campaign for ending military aid to Ukraine.
Fico also criticized sanctions against Russia.
Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová appointed Fico and his government after his party SMER-SSD won the elections on September 30 and formed a coalition with the left-center party HLAS and the nationalist party SNS.
