Issue of Sunday Operations for Health Centers in Sarajevo Canton Resolved

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton Haris Vranić held a meeting today with the Director of the Public Institution Health Center of Sarajevo Canton Abel Baltić and the President of the Management Board of this institution Ademir Spahić, and at the meeting, the issue of Sunday operations for health centers was resolved.

A solution has been defined based on which citizens are provided with health services every day of the week in all organizational units of the Health Center, including Hadžići, Ilijaš, Trnovo, and Vogošća.

The attendees agreed that the priority is to resolve the problem in a way that meets the demands and needs of citizens, as well as the employees of the health centers.

They emphasized that one of the main problems is the deficient laws at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which limit the possibility of resolving such or similar issues. It was agreed that the necessary amendments to the acts should be made as soon as possible, so that the demands of a large number of users of health center services in Sarajevo Canton are met.

Also, at today's meeting, the method of implementing the obligations from the recently signed Collective Agreement on the Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Healthcare Sector for the Sarajevo Canton area was defined.

In addition, during today's meeting, the interlocutors expressed hope that at the next session of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, which will be held at the beginning of July, amendments to the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Fund of Sarajevo Canton will be adopted. This will enable the payment of salaries to healthcare workers in accordance with the provisions of the signed and adopted Collective Agreement on the Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Healthcare Sector for the Sarajevo Canton area.

Finally, joint steps concerning the process of restructuring and reforming the healthcare system were also defined, with the aim of ensuring the highest possible quality of care for citizens, as well as the best possible working conditions for healthcare workers.
