Around thirty people have been arrested on suspicion of joining together to sell drugs in the Rijeka area, twelve of whom were brought in for questioning at the Rijeka USKOK on Wednesday, while the rest will be brought there during the day, reports the Patria news agency.
Unofficially, it is learned that after questioning at the USKOK, the suspects will be brought before the investigating judge of the Rijeka County Court, who will decide on the proposal to order them into investigative detention.
Allegedly, this group of dealers joined together to sell marijuana, cocaine and amphetamines, and they organized this drug ring six months ago in the wider Rijeka and Opatija area.
The Rijeka-based Novi list reported that the suspects are from the Rijeka and Opatija areas and from the settlements of Marinić and Viškovo, where they smuggled, supplied and distributed various types of drugs.
Their arrest was preceded by a months-long operation by the police and the prosecution, which included dozens of suspects, and the group is allegedly led by D.G. from Marinić. The drugs, as Novi list writes, were smuggled from Slovenia and were intended for the Rijeka area, reports Index.
