Reconstruction of the tram "S" curve section will be completed within the announced deadline

(Patria) . The Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton informs the public that the deadline for the reconstruction of the tram "S" curve section – tram stop "Marijin Dvor" will be completed as previously announced by November 11 this year, and trams will run to Baščaršija as soon as the works are finished.

On this occasion, they wish to state that the public has been misinformed, and that the Ministry has issued a decision clearly specifying that the contractor, who started the reconstruction on October 2 this year, must complete it within 40 days. In this regard, the works should be completed on November 11, and as announced, trams will run to Baščaršija starting from November 12, 2020.

The Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton continuously monitors the dynamics of the works and takes all necessary measures to speed them up, and in accordance with that, approves temporary traffic regulations at the mentioned location.

The Ministry of Transport states that for October 31, and November 1, 2, and 3, 2020, the laying of new rails, their leveling and anchoring, as well as concreting and asphalting at the intersection of Zmaja od Bosne and Vrbanja streets are announced, and in accordance with that, a new traffic regulation is needed at the mentioned location. From today, October 30, 2020, until November 4, between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM, there will be a temporary change in the traffic regime, specifically:

- complete traffic obstruction in Vrbanja street on the section from the intersection of Vrbanja street and the service road of the Sarajevo City Center shopping center to the intersection with Zmaja od Bosne street, i.e., vehicle movement will be impossible in the direction of Vrbanja street, including Hiseta, Zmaja od Bosne, and Fra Anđela Zvizdovića streets, as well as in the direction of Maršala Tita, Zmaja od Bosne, and Fra Anđela Zvizdovića streets - Vrbanja street;

- traffic will continue to flow in two lanes on Zmaja od Bosne street and Hiseta street on the "S" curve section – "Marijin Dvor" tram stop, while the two right traffic lanes will be closed to traffic;

- part of the traffic from Zmaja od Bosne street will continue to be redirected via Franje Račkog street (two lanes), Wilson's Promenade (two lanes), Kotromanićeva street with an exit to Hiseta street at the traffic light intersection;

- the part of Wilson's Promenade from the intersection with Franje Račkog street to the intersection with Vrbanja street will remain open for vehicle traffic from 0:00 to 24:00, and cyclist traffic is suspended in this part;

- Pedestrian traffic will be redirected via safe pedestrian surfaces.
