Reis orders muftis and imams to join rescue and aid efforts!

Reisu-l-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović sent instructions to the offices of muftis in BiH regarding the natural disasters that have hit almost all areas of our country in recent days, it was announced from the Administration of the Islamic Community in BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The instructions state that the bodies and institutions of the Islamic Community are obliged to further engage and make themselves available to endangered citizens in the coming days.

The instructions further state that it is necessary to immediately organize an operational headquarters at the muftiship level to monitor the situation and gather information about the extent and nature of the damage that has affected individual municipalities.

- This Operational Headquarters will, based on the collected information, issue instructions to the chief imams on how and in what way to engage available human and material resources in their area to help endangered citizens, especially since the coming night is full of uncertainty and human lives may be endangered. Chief imams will appoint a person at the municipal level as the main operative who will coordinate the activities of the Islamic Community with the Municipal Crisis Headquarters - it was emphasized.

It is also emphasized that if, according to meteorologists' predictions, the water begins to recede during the weekend, it will be necessary to provide direct assistance to families whose residential buildings are flooded or damaged. It is necessary to organize groups of community members (men and women) who will provide all kinds of assistance to the affected families: distribution of food, water, hygiene products, clothing, footwear, and blankets, as well as cleaning and renovation of buildings.

Furthermore, it is emphasized that coordination with Merhamet and other humanitarian organizations should be established at the muftiship level in order to provide them with assistance in distributing the listed necessities.

- The operational headquarters at the muftiship level will coordinate assistance among the municipalities in its area. At the same time, information about the situation in the muftiship area will be sent to the Operational Headquarters of the Rijaset via email: [email protected] or via fax: 033 441 573. The Operational Headquarters at the Rijaset level will coordinate assistance between the operational headquarters at the muftiship level - it was announced.

The Rijaset of the Islamic Community will, after assessing the overall situation, propose concrete financial and all other material assistance within its available capacity.

- Reisu-l-ulema orders that a collection (sergija) be organized in all mosques of the Islamic Community in BiH next Friday to help the affected areas. He also demands that all officials of the Islamic Community: mutawallis, imams, presidents of municipalities, chief imams, directors of institutions, and muftis be available to endangered citizens until the end of the crisis - it was stated, reports NAP.
