Reis Kavazović most strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo editorial office in Paris

The Rais al-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović, sent a telegram of condolences to the Ambassador of the Republic of France in Sarajevo, in which he most strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- On my behalf and on behalf of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I express to the families of the victims, the French people, the leadership of the state of France, and to you personally, the deepest condolences and sympathy in pain and sorrow following the brutal terrorist attack on the editorial office of the magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris and the murder of 10 journalists and two police officers, as well as the wounding of several other people. I express full solidarity with the French people and state in the fight against terrorist violence and the suffering of innocent people, and I most strongly condemn those who plan and carry out terror and sow fear – stated in the message from Rais al-ulama Kavazović.

Freedom of thought and the media, the statement further states, and respect for human dignity are undeniable values and necessary conditions for the progress of humanity, which should always and everywhere be protected and promoted. Freedom is the natural aspiration of every human being, and therefore it is stronger than fear and therefore it is indestructible.

Therefore, Rais al-ulama Kavazović believes, although there are individuals who abuse freedom to impose unfreedom and faith to justify their acts of disbelief, these selfish manipulators cannot destroy the value of freedom and the nobility of sincere faith.

- I hope that the murderers and their accomplices will be brought to justice as soon as possible and face justice, and that French society and the entire freedom-loving world will avoid the trap of stigmatizing innocent people and divisions, which is what these acts of violence aim to achieve – stated Rais al-ulama Kavazović, reports Patria.
