The Registry Doesn't Lie: Elektroprivreda HZHB Owner is the Ministry of Energy, Not the FBiH Government

The Registry of Securities of the Federation of BiH is quite diverse, with the Government listed as the owner of some state-owned companies, while line ministries are owners of others, writes the Patria news agency.

Since the formation of the new government, the leader of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, has set his sights on JP Elektropivreda HZ HB.

Thus, at the very first regular session of the Federal Government, the President of the FBiH, Marinko Čavara, about which Patria has already written, dictated the agenda to Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, and the item he immediately requested to be considered was the dismissal of the management and supervisory boards, as well as the management of all state-owned companies.

When that did not succeed, a letter was commissioned through the president of the EP HZ HB Trade Union, which was intended to serve as a pretext for a political incident for HDZ, i.e., Čović.

The Minister of Energy, Mining, and Industry, Reuf Bajrović, was accused of ordering the removal of Croatian symbols from the room where he held a meeting during his visit to the company.

Even that did not work because it turned out to be a deception of the public, and now recourse has been made to repealing the Decree from 2011, by which the FBiH Government gave line ministries the authority to manage state-owned companies, which includes appointing management.

However, even if that Decree is repealed, the Registry of Securities of the FBiH clearly indicates who the owner of which company is.

It is registered there that the Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Industry is the owner of both JP Elektroprivreda BiH and JP Elektropriveda HZ HB, not the FBiH Government.

However, Čović's goal now is for decisions on all appointments to be made exclusively by the Government of the Federation of BiH, where he counts on outvoting DF ministers.

The HDZ leader is likely counting on the favor returned to SDA, i.e., to the Minister of FMUP, Aljoša Čampare, when his ministers, although Dragan Lukač had met the conditions for retirement, voted for his appointment as director of FUP.
