(Patria) - The statement from the Embassy of the Russian Federation is yet another clear contrast between the assistance offered to Bosnia and Herzegovina by NATO allies and our EU partners, and what Russia offers, it was stated for N1 from the US Embassy in BiH.
The US Embassy stated that the NATO alliance's relationship with BiH is focused on reforms that benefit all citizens and are complementary to BiH's path towards the EU. The Reform Program process led by BiH is an opportunity for BiH to identify its own reform priorities and how it sees the Alliance's assistance in achieving them, they said.
“NATO allies will continue to assist BiH in progressing towards its goal of joining the Euro-Atlantic community, as well as provide support to the Armed Forces of BiH when they respond in crisis situations and provide assistance in another form. As an alliance, NATO is guided by the concept of collective security. Security, stability, and prosperity are best achieved through purposeful cooperation.
The NATO alliance's focus in BiH is on strong partnership, and the door to membership remains open. Any future decision on inviting Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the NATO alliance would be made based on the consensus of all member states and the consensus within BiH authorities. NATO's approach demonstrates its full respect for the fact that significant progress in BiH requires consensus,” it was stated for N1 from the US Embassy in BiH.
We remind you that on Thursday, the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement stating that “in the event of a practical rapprochement between BiH and NATO, Russia will have to react to this hostile step,” N1 reports.
