Response: Tax Administration did not block accounts of betting shops in Zenica

The Tax Administration of FBiH - Cantonal Tax Office Zenica did not block the transaction accounts of taxpayers from the group "lotteries, gambling, sports betting", based on the municipal tax of the City of Zenica, as stated in the announcement of the City Administration of Zenica, the Tax Administration announced. 

- On 03.07.2017, a text was published in the media under the title: "Tax Administration blocked taxpayers' accounts, they must pay half a million marks to the city". In connection with the published text in which the announcement of the City Administration contained incorrect information and data, and in order to properly and truthfully inform the public, the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH - Cantonal Tax Office Zenica denies the claims in the text and issues the following announcement:

The Tax Administration of FBiH - Cantonal Tax Office Zenica did not block the transaction accounts of taxpayers from the group "lotteries, gambling, sports betting", based on the municipal tax of the City of Zenica, as stated in the announcement of the City Administration of Zenica. 

The Cantonal Tax Office Zenica initiated the procedure for forced collection of municipal tax based on enforcement decisions and tax returns for taxpayers from the group "lotteries, gambling, sports betting", for 2015 in the amount of up to 183,743.69 KM, and not in the amount of 500,000.00 KM as stated in the text - the Tax Administration's announcement states.

The Tax Administration of FBiH emphasizes that the procedure for forced collection of municipal tax is carried out in accordance with the law and bylaws after the deadlines within which the taxpayer was obliged to settle their due obligations have expired and when the collection decisions become enforceable and final, NAP reports.
