WAR CRIMES Two individuals arrested for the abduction and murder of 22 civilians from Lješevo

(Patria) - Acting on the order of a prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes, SIPA police officers, in the areas of Zvornik and Rogatica, apprehended two suspects for crimes against humanity in the area of Lješevo village in the municipality of Ilijaš, in June 1992.

The investigation relates to the crime of abduction and murder of 22 Bosniak civilians from Lješevo, including women and elderly persons, who were shot and killed. Among the victims were several members of the Avdukić, Fazlić, and Masnopita families.

The apprehended suspects are accused of being direct perpetrators who personally participated in the abduction and murder of the victims.

After questioning the suspects, the acting prosecutor will decide on further actions in the case.
