Tragedy in Banja Luka Clarified: Aleksandar (19) Killed in Prearranged Fight

Aleksandar Rold (19) from Banja Luka was stabbed to death last night in the yard of the “Jovan Cvijić” Elementary School in the Kočićev Vijenac neighborhood of Banja Luka, reports the Patria news agency.

For the murder of the young man, his peer and neighbor Anđelo Marković has been arrested. Rold, a student at the Secondary School of Hospitality, died at the crime scene due to bleeding out from multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

“EuroBlic” has confirmed that the murder occurred after the killer and the victim agreed to settle unresolved disputes through a fight on the school playground. In the fight, Marković came out worse, then approached Rold and extended his hand to acknowledge defeat.

-He said to Aleksandar: “Congratulations, you are stronger.” When Aleksandar, unaware of what awaited him, extended his hand, Anđelo swung with the other hand in which he held a knife and stabbed him at least ten times in the body,’’ said an eyewitness.

The lifeless body of the young man in the snow was found by emergency doctors in front of the entrance to the school hall, where traces of blood were still visible today.

Marija Markanović, spokesperson for the CJB Banja Luka, stated that the murder was reported on Friday around 11:15 PM on Anđe Knežević Street, after which all available police units were “mobilized.”

The police blocked part of the city around the crime scene in record time, and one hour after the murder, the suspect Anđelo Marković was arrested at his home on Mile Bekute Street. During the investigation, the police also found the knife, not far from the crime scene.

Killer with a thick file

The suspect Anđelo Marković spent 15 hours in criminal processing at the CJB Banja Luka, after which he will be handed over to the duty prosecutor. “EuroBlic” learns that Marković remained silent during the interrogation. He has a thick file with the police, and it has been confirmed that he was arrested for theft at a “Minutica” kiosk, as well as for armed robbery.
