SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Enver Bijedić spoke today at the BiH Parliament about the case of the arrest of police officer T.O. in Tuzla, just three days after he and his colleague arrested the husband of TK Prosecutor's Office prosecutor Mirzeta Begić for disturbing public order and peace.
"After three days and attempts to extort a statement from another colleague, the police officer was arrested. The public was outraged. The public has questions and wants to know how and in what way the detention of the police officer was justified and what the evidence is. Why was the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Tuzla not recused? Why did they speak emotionally about the investigation, saying they expected a report from the FUP and were publicly ordered what kind of report they must submit.
Under whose orders was a private investigation conducted and data from Facebook older than decades published? The court accepted the appeal and determined that there was no reasonable suspicion, I wonder now who will be held accountable for such actions by the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office and who will be held accountable when this police officer sues the state for the pain caused. I ask the HJPC when disciplinary proceedings will begin against prosecutors who work emotionally and cause damage," said Bijedić.
Otherwise, the Municipal Court in Tuzla recently rejected the appeal of the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office, and the decision is in effect that there is no reasonable suspicion that the arrested police officer committed the alleged offense.
This court decision showed all the bias of the TK Prosecutor's Office, which recently issued a statement claiming that the Municipal Court in Tuzla confirmed the "highest level of suspicion, reasonable suspicion, that the police officer from PS East Tuzla T.O. committed the criminal offense of abuse in office, in the manner, at the time, and at the place as stated in the order for conducting the investigation by the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Tuzla Canton."
A denial from the prosecutor is expected now that the Court has determined that there is not even reasonable suspicion.
We remind you that police officer T.O., a member of the MUP TK, was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of the criminal offense of "abuse in office," and the court rejected the Prosecutor's Office's request for one month of detention.
The police officer was arrested three days after he deprived Mujaga Begić, the husband of TK Prosecutor's Office prosecutor Mirzeta Begić, of his liberty for disturbing public order and peace.
The police officer had also been awarded for outstanding work results, with special emphasis on his contribution to protecting the personal and property security of citizens.
As the defense previously emphasized, the TK Prosecutor's Office flagrantly violated the presumption of innocence, as the Prosecutor's Office informed the public that the prosecutor's husband is an exemplary citizen, and the police officers are thugs.
