Debate ongoing: Will Republika Srpska hold a referendum on the BiH Court and Prosecutor's Office?

In Banja Luka, the special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska continued today, where the decision to call a referendum on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH is to be reactivated, reports the Patria News Agency.

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, at whose initiative the session is being held, said that the decision to call a referendum will be made and manifested in the National Assembly of Srpska, and that there will be no backing down from the citizens' vote on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

Dodik also proposed a referendum question which reads: "Do you support the unconstitutional and illegal imposition of laws by the High Representative of the international community, and especially the imposed laws on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the application of their decisions in the territory of Republika Srpska?".

Davor Šešić from SDS said that the authorities will have the support of the party's members in the referendum, but that before that, the ruling party must have a clear plan for what will happen the day after, what will happen when the referendum is over and when the people say what they want, what plan the authorities have after that.

He reminded that SNSD MPs had already sought SDS support once, and that the decision on the referendum was supported in the Assembly, but it did not happen because SNSD was not serious about it even then.

- If a referendum takes place, it is clear what the citizens of Srpska will vote for, and you do not need the opposition's support for holding a referendum, and that is certain, but the question is whether you will see it through to the end, whether you have the will and desire for it - asked SDS MP Nade Planinčević.
