Federal Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramić said today in Sarajevo that Bosniaks returning to the Republic of Srpska can turn the Law on Immovable Property Tax in the Republic of Srpska to their advantage, if they are diligent and determined, writes Patria.
Instead of paying tax on land in RS, Bosniaks can receive incentives from the RS Government for that land, if they cultivate it or raise livestock on it.
The Law on Amendments to the Law on Immovable Property Tax in the Republic of Srpska, adopted in 2014, provides for the payment of tax on unused land. However, what caused sharp reactions among Bosniaks, especially those from the diaspora, is a provision of that law which, if the tax is not paid within eight days of the invoice being issued, allows the RS Tax Administration to seize the property from its actual owner, sell it at auction, and thus settle its claims.
- Bosniaks should start using the land they own in RS, so instead of paying tax, they can receive incentives from the RS Government – said Ramić.
A report on the work of the Federal Ministry for Displaced Persons and Refugees for 2015 was presented today at the FBiH Government, writes Patria.
