Bazan refinery could partially reopen in a month

(Patria) - Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen stated that the main Israeli oil refinery Bazan, which was shut down after being hit by Iranian ballistic missiles, could partially be returned to operation within a month.

Cohen emphasized that fuel shortages are not expected, as another refinery in Ashdod had stored sufficient quantities of petroleum products before closing for regular maintenance. He added that there has been no need to use strategic fuel reserves yet.

Regarding the shutdown of two out of three gas platforms since the beginning of the conflict with Iran, Cohen pointed out that Israeli power plants can use alternative sources such as coal and diesel.

He also emphasized that during peak consumption hours, up to 40% of electricity in Israel is produced from renewable sources, mainly solar energy.
