Radončić requested police protection for returnees in RS from Lukač

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following last night's unfortunate events in Srebrenica, where returnees were openly and disgustingly intimidated and religious and national intolerance was incited, the Alliance for Better Future (SBB) demands an urgent reaction from the competent police authorities in identifying, and from the prosecution in adequately and effectively prosecuting the perpetrators of this shameful provocation, according to the SBB's reaction. 

"Religious holidays should never be a place for demonstrating hatred and intolerance based on anyone's racist, xenophobic, and primitive beliefs, especially not Srebrenica. The competent authorities at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily the Ministry of Security and OSA, have already reacted promptly, which we also expect from the institutions of the Republika Srpska entity," the SBB stated. 

The Party of Justice and Development (NiP) today called on the Minister of Security of BiH Fahrudin Radončić (SBB) to react and insist that law enforcement agencies, from SIPA to OSA, as well as the entity police of RS, stop the rampage.

"In addition to operational action, Radončić also has a political and moral obligation to stand up for the oppressed and to point out the radicalism of Chetnik organizations. Messages claiming that Sarajevo imams are radical, and silence on such barbaric raids by radical hordes in Srebrenica and Višegrad, send a distorted message to the world," the NiP statement reads.

Minister Radončić responded to NiP, i.e., Elmedin Konaković, stating that he did not wait "for the unfortunate Konaković to wake up this morning and lecture the Minister of Security on operational responsibilities that the Ministry of Security of BiH does not have anyway."

"Already during yesterday's harassment of returnees, the BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović, OSA Director Osman Mehmedagić, and I contacted responsible individuals from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and requested that they increase police protection for our people. We acted very responsibly and effectively, and we will not inform the sleepy Konaković, who has done nothing in Sarajevo Canton in eight years of governance, about the details," Radončić stated in his reaction.
