People's Kitchen working hours adjusted to user needs during Ramadan

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - During the great Muslim month of Ramadan, the first day of fasting for which began on May 16, the working hours of the employees of the People's Kitchen “Stari Grad” are from 5 AM to 8:30 PM every day, including weekends.

The schedule for distributing hot meals to regular users has not changed and remains from 7 AM to 11 AM. The kitchen management has organized daily distribution of food, i.e., iftar, for 200 registered fasters in the period from 5 PM to 7 PM.

– The greatest joy for the employees of the People's Kitchen is that during Ramadan, despite the great obligations, we managed to organize the delivery of iftar to seven addresses of elderly, immobile, and visually impaired people in the Canton of Sarajevo, from Baščaršija to Ilidža. Volunteers transport the food for us; they make themselves available after their working hours and at their own expense drive food to those who are unable to come to our kitchen.

Thanks to these good people, food is delivered to a blind grandmother in Otoka and an elderly couple in Boljakov potok, where one grandfather takes care of his immobile wife.

Such examples, especially from young people, prove to us that Ramadan is a special month and that there is a lot of goodness in our people to help others, said Zilha Šeta, manager of the People's Kitchen “Stari Grad”.
