Skenderija workers demand payment of back wages and contributions

The Trade Union of KJP Centar “Skenderija” issued a statement on Thursday, stating that one hundred workers of this company are demanding payment of back wages and meal allowances from the Management, as well as the payment of contributions, reports Patria News Agency.

Employees held a trade union meeting on February 5th due to the difficult situation in this company. The evident dissatisfaction of the employees with the company's Management was expressed. Employees claim that the Management is doing nothing to create a positive business environment in a once promising state-owned company.

- Centar “Skenderija” has been operating successfully independently since 1969, but in recent years the company has been brought into question of survival - the statement reads.

- Based on the expressed unanimous dissatisfaction of the employees towards the company's Management, the following minimum demands were sent: payment of wages for November 2014, payment of meal allowances for October and November 2014, payment of wages and meal allowances for December 2014, resolution of the issue related to the irregular payment of contributions, pension and health insurance.

According to the submitted request, the Management has so far only paid the net wages for November 2014. Accordingly, the Trade Union met again on February 9, 2015, and unanimously stood by its aforementioned minimum demands.

The actual obligations of the Management towards the employees of Skenderija as of February 12, 2015, are: wages for December 2014, January 2015, as well as outstanding obligations from the period 2011-2012 in the amount of four salaries, meal allowance for October, November, December 2014 and January 2015, transportation allowance for November, December and January 2015, payment of pension and health insurance contributions for a longer period, the statement further states, reports Patria.
