MS&WOOD Employees and Fojnica High School Students Plant 5,500 Forest Saplings

Employees of the furniture industry company MS&WOOD (Majstori i drvo) and Fojnica high school students planted 5,500 forest saplings last weekend. In previous traditional afforestation campaigns, MS&WOOD has planted over 30,000 forest saplings.

Fifty employees of MS&WOOD and an equal number of students participated in the afforestation campaign. MS&WOOD organized this large afforestation campaign in cooperation with the Association of High School Students of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Student Council of SMS "Zijah Dizdarević" from Fojnica.

The entire management of the company, led by owner and director Muhamed Pilav, was involved in the afforestation of the slopes of Vranica. The mayor of Fojnica municipality, Sabahudin Klisura, the manager of Fojnica Forest Office, Elmir Dugonja, and several members of the "Vranica" Fojnica mountaineering club also joined the campaign.

- This is now a traditional and regular activity that MS&WOOD employees carry out every spring and autumn in Fojnica, where for every cubic meter of timber purchased, we plant more than two new saplings. This time, we allocated daily wages of 20 KM for all high school students participating in the afforestation. As I was informed, they decided to donate their earned money for the treatment of their colleague Sarah Tutnjević - stated Pilav.

The campaign continues, and 5,000 new saplings will be planted in the spring.

- In previous years and this past spring, MS&WOOD employees planted 26,000 forest saplings on Mount Vranica. With the new 5,500 saplings, a total of 31,500 forest saplings have been planted so far. "MS&WOOD continuously invests in planting new trees. This is the only way to regenerate our forests, ensure sufficient timber for furniture production, and also a healthier environment - said Pilav.

Sandwiches and sweet snacks for everyone who participated in the afforestation were provided by the "Dukat" bakery from Tešanj, a member of the group.
