A two-day workshop on the media portrayal of children with disabilities has begun on Jahorina. The workshop brings together experts from the social and child protection systems, journalists, and activists for the exchange of information, knowledge, and experiences regarding the concept of social inclusion of children, reports the Patria news agency.

Topics on ethics in dealing with children and the public presentation of social and child protection issues will also be addressed. The goal of the workshop is to develop, through discussion, joint recommendations for communication activities so that children with disabilities are presented to the public in a dignified manner and their rights are protected.

In line with the conclusions of previous similar gatherings, dialogue between experts, representatives of institutions, the academic community, and media professionals is a necessary prerequisite for better informing the public and advocating for the best policies and practices for the well-being of children in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiator and organizer of the gathering is UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with relevant institutions.
