Talgo Train Journey: Tourists Satisfied with Service, Delay to Destination Negligible 12 Minutes

Railway transport in BiH has long been synonymous with discomfort, train delays, and long journeys, and it used to happen that passengers would wait for hours for a train without any explanation of the reasons for the delay, writes the Patria agency.

However, with the introduction of trains with Talgo sets, the situation seems to be changing for the better. There is an increasing number of passengers using railway transport services, proving the justification for its operation. It would have been even better if this had been done much earlier.

Comfort, cleanliness, travel speed, and other quality services are sufficient reasons for the expansion of both domestic and foreign passengers.

The journalist of the Patria agency, who had the opportunity to talk with passengers of BH Voz operating on the Sarajevo-Čapljina route about their experiences in railway transport in BiH and abroad, also experienced the quality of service provided by Željeznice FBiH in Talgo trains.

Marga Majakovska from the Polish city of Krakow says this is her second visit to BiH. The first time was eight years ago, and she traveled to Mostar by the old train, popularly known as "it's good whenever it arrives." She says that the journey then cannot be compared to the current one.

- Everything is much better and more comfortable now. The train is my favorite means of transport, and I use it at every opportunity. I don't want to exaggerate and say that this is on par with Germany, Austria, or France, but it is definitely at a higher level than railway transport in Turkey, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and some parts of Russia. Two years ago, I traveled from Turkey to Iran and had a very bad experience. The train was packed, I stood for three full hours, there was no air conditioning, so this seems quite decent – says this tourist.

The married couple Andreas and Julia from Germany, who are visiting our country for the first time, also have words of praise for the ride on the new train. They visited Međugorje and traveled by Talgo train from Sarajevo to Mostar and back.

- I don't know what it was like before, but this can get a high rating. We are satisfied with the quality of service. The speed is not and cannot be like in Germany, you have to be aware of that. The reason is mostly the terrain. It is not possible to develop a speed of 300 km/h in these hilly areas as in the plains of Germany or France – emphasizes Andreas.

His wife Julia shares his opinion, seeing the only drawback in the fact that she cannot watch a movie on the TV in the train normally because there is no translation.

The train arrived at the Sarajevo station 12 minutes later than scheduled, and the conductor jokingly says: "Be quiet, this is Japanese punctuality, we used to be late by an hour and a half."

Judging by the passengers' reactions, BH Voz has a future and the potential to become the main means of transport for BiH citizens.
