Putin's tank 20 years ahead of American-made ones

The Russians have produced a tank that is so technologically advanced that it is 20 years ahead of anything being made in the West. The "Armata T-14" is fully equipped with the latest technology and armament, with a remotely controlled turret and special protection for the crew, writes Blic, reports the Patria News Agency.

Its creators call it a marvel of technology, as it can be fully automated, which actually means it is the world's first robotic tank.

Ilya Demchenko (35), a member of the team that made the tank, claims that the computer system can control most of the technical functions, allowing the crew to concentrate on key tasks.

- It's like playing a video game for the crew, where some final moves are made and decisions are taken, he explained.

The Armata is equipped with a 125mm cannon, has "Sokol 1" anti-tank missiles and five defensive weapon systems on both sides. It also has a high-resolution camera and very sophisticated radar technology. There are also hidden sensors that can detect hidden anti-tank mines.

It can reach a speed of 75 kilometers per hour and has new technical features for crew protection. People don't necessarily have to be in the cabin, while the crew members located at a lower level of the vehicle are separated from the weapons by special partitions.

The Armata has seven steel wheels each, and is powered by a turbo engine with 1,500 horsepower. Overall, the new Russian weapon has definitely surpassed the American M1 "Abrams" main battle tank.

The behemoth was produced as part of the renewal of Russian armaments, which Russia paid $350 billion for. The "Armata T-14" was also displayed at the recently held military parade in Moscow.
