(Patria) - The situation along the line of contact is stable, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the acting head of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) Leonid Pasechnik, the Russian agency Tass reported.
"You can see for yourself that the situation is currently stable along the line of contact," Putin said, Tass agency reported.
Putin's statement confirms Ukrainian claims that Kyiv's counteroffensive is slow and that there are no significant changes on the front.
Western officials have repeatedly emphasized that the front is stable, but that they expect a Ukrainian breakthrough through fortified Russian lines.
