(Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the public this evening. He said that the organizers of the rebellion will be brought to justice.
"The organizers of this rebellion must understand that they will be brought to justice, this is a criminal activity aimed at weakening the country," Putin said, adding that they had betrayed the country.
"The organizers of the armed rebellion have betrayed not only their country and people, but also those who were drawn into the crime, pushing them under fire, to shoot at their own," said the Russian president.
Putin did not mention Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin by name, but he seemed to be targeting him.
In a sharp and brief televised address, he also said that "any form of blackmail is doomed to failure" and that the West wants Russian soldiers to kill each other.
"This is exactly the outcome that our enemies wanted: the neo-Nazis in Kyiv, and their Western patrons, and various traitors. They wanted Russian soldiers to kill each other, to kill military personnel and civilians, so that Russia would ultimately lose, and our society would be divided, drowned in a bloody civil conflict," Putin said.
He also addressed the ordinary Wagner members. He said that the vast majority of Wagner members are Russian patriots.
"By turning back, they avoided further bloodshed," Putin added.
He thanked the commanders and soldiers of Wagner who avoided bloodshed.
