Putin invited Vučić to visit Moscow in May 2025

(Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin sent an invitation to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to visit Moscow on the occasion of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II, which will be held in May next year, RTS has learned.

"I invite you to take part in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held in Moscow on May 9, 2025," Putin's invitation states.

As added, this most important date symbolizes the end of the most terrible war in human history.

"We pay deep respect to the heroism of our fathers and grandfathers and bow our heads to the numerous victims of Nazism.

I am convinced that preserving the memory of the Great Victory will strengthen our common determination to resist any manifestations of neo-Nazism and increase constructive cooperation in order to ensure peace and security on the planet. I will be sincerely glad to see you in Moscow," Putin wrote.

Vučić and Putin last spoke by phone on October 20 this year, after which the Serbian president told reporters that Putin had invited him to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism on May 9 next year.

The last meeting between the two presidents was on October 17, 2023, in Beijing at the international forum of the Chinese initiative "Belt and Road".
