Putin on the end of the war in Ukraine: If no solution is found, we will achieve all our goals by military means

(Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering a journalist's question in Beijing today about whether the war in Ukraine is nearing its end, replied that there is "light at the end of the tunnel."

- I believe that, if common sense prevails, it is possible to agree on an acceptable option or an acceptable way to end this conflict.

We also see that the current US administration has the will and desire to find a solution to this... I think there is light at the end of the tunnel. We will see... Otherwise, we will be forced to achieve all our goals by military means - Putin said.

He claimed that Russian forces are advancing "on all fronts" in Ukraine and added that Ukraine is "not capable" of launching large-scale offensives.

Putin also claims that Ukrainians are now trying to fill gaps by regrouping their forces.

- We should not be complacent now; they may be preparing some reserves, some actions, large-scale events, but a preliminary analysis by our military experts has shown that the Ukrainian army does not have that capability - Putin emphasized.

He once again suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's term has expired and that "there is no way to extend it," again questioning his legitimacy to hold office without elections, although the Ukrainian constitution prohibits holding elections under martial law.

- So, does it make sense to meet with the current administration? We could do that - I have never refused to do so if it would lead to some positive outcomes - Putin added.

According to him, if progress is to be made, Ukraine needs to lift martial law, hold elections, and hold a referendum on territorial issues.

Putin was also asked about his invitation for US President Donald Trump to visit Russia, which he mentioned during their meeting in Alaska.

He replied that there are no active preparations for such a visit, but that his invitation remains open.
