Putin orders government to ensure Russia enters top four economies by 2030

(Patria) - President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to ensure Russia enters the top four world economies by GDP purchasing power parity, TASS reported.

The list of instructions Putin gave after addressing the Federal Assembly in February was published on the Kremlin's website. The government must report to Putin on progress by March 31, 2025, and then compile annual reports.

Putin tasked the Government with increasing the gross value added in the manufacturing industry by at least 40% by 2030 compared to 2022, reducing the share of imports in GDP to 17%, and increasing exports not related to resources and energy by at least two-thirds.

The government should gradually reduce the number of regions with low fiscal capacity, according to the text of the order.
