PUTIN LIQUIDATES WITNESSES Doctor who treated Navalny suddenly dies

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Deputy Chief Doctor for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Sergey Maksimishin, "suddenly died," his hospital in the Siberian city of Omsk reported.

Maksimishin worked at the hospital for 28 years.

In November, the chief doctor at the same hospital, Alexander Murakhovsky, who came under public scrutiny for Navalny's treatment, was promoted to the position of regional health minister.

At the time, Murakhovsky only confirmed that Navalny suffered from a metabolic disorder, not from poisoning. Navalny accused him of "falsifying" the diagnosis.

Navalny fainted during a flight on August 20. After landing, the 44-year-old was transported to a hospital in Omsk. Two days later, he was transferred to Berlin and treated for weeks in the German hospital Charite.

According to research by several laboratories, he was poisoned with the Novichok nerve agent. Russia, on the other hand, claims it could not prove that Navalny was poisoned and therefore did not launch an investigation.

Navalny was arrested upon his return to Moscow and sentenced to two years and eight months in prison earlier this week for allegedly violating a suspended sentence in a previous fraud and embezzlement case from 2014.

Navalny could not comply with the terms of the suspended sentence because he was in a coma in Berlin, but when imposing the prison sentence, the Russian judge stated that the laws apply equally to all circumstances.
