(Patria) - Russia hopes that US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza will be successfully implemented and is ready to support efforts to end the bloodshed, stated President Vladimir Putin today.
- We sincerely hope that these initiatives by the US President will truly be realized in practice - Putin said at a summit in Tajikistan.
Let us recall that within the framework of the first phase of Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, a ceasefire and the release of hostages were agreed upon.
Egyptian state television Kahera reported that the ceasefire officially came into effect around noon local time in the region, after the warring parties signed it in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.
According to the first phase of the agreement, fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release the hostages it captured in the attack that triggered the war, in exchange for prisoners held by Israel.
