Putin to host Kazakh leader Tokayev today

(Patria) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will talk today with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the beginning of a two-day state visit to Russia, the Russian president's press service announced, TASS reported.

"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay a state visit to Russia. The talks will address key issues concerning the development of Russian-Kazakh relations, strategic partnership and alliance in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as important issues of the regional and global agenda," the Kremlin press service statement said.

Accordingly, Putin and Tokayev will address the participants of the plenary session of the 21st Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, which will be hosted by Kazakh Uralsk, via video link.

After the visit, it is planned that the two presidents will sign important bilateral documents.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin might inform his Kazakh counterpart about the situation on the front and efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, as the Russian president always informs his colleagues about such matters.
