(Patria) - The death toll from the shooting in Texas is rising. According to the latest data, five people were killed and more than twenty were injured in the shooting in the cities of Midland and Odessa in West Texas, and the attacker is among the dead.
Police state that the suspect who was killed in the shooting was a white male around thirty years old. After initial reports of several attackers, police believe there was only one.
It all started when a traffic policeman stopped the suspect, but he killed the officer and then stole a US Postal Service truck and continued to randomly shoot at people. Police managed to surround him in the parking lot of the Cinergy theater and, by all accounts, kill him in an exchange of fire. Police are currently refusing to release his identity or describe how he died.
US President Donald Trump commented on the new shooting in Texas on Twitter.
"I have just been briefed on the shooting in Texas. The FBI and law enforcement are fully engaged. More soon," Trump wrote.
We remind you that four weeks ago, 22 people were killed in a massacre committed by a 21-year-old in a shopping mall in the city of El Paso.
