Shooting in Switzerland: Two people killed, one injured

(Patria) - Two people were killed today, and one was injured when a man shot at a group of people in the Swiss town of Sion, local police reported.

A search for the attacker is underway.

The cantonal police of Valais in southwestern Switzerland announced that according to initial findings, the perpetrator knew his victims.


According to the police statement, shortly before 8 AM, an as yet unidentified person shot at several people in Sion, a town in the Alps.

It is stated that his motives are currently unknown.

Police announced that they have deployed a large number of personnel to apprehend the perpetrator of the attack, and the cantonal prosecutor's office has opened an investigation.
