SHOOTING IN LJUBLJANA Attacker Kills Two People, Then Takes Own Life

(Patria) - Shortly before 3 PM, Ljubljana police received information about a shooting in the Fužine area.

The attacker killed two people and then fled the scene, the Ljubljana Police Administration announced.

Another dead man, believed to be the perpetrator, was found later near the scene.

"In the wider vicinity of the scene, a dead man was found who, according to currently known information, is believed to be the perpetrator of the mentioned criminal offense," the State Prosecutor's Office in Ljubljana supplemented the information an hour after the first announcement.

Unofficially, it was an escalation of a dispute between three men. Two of them, the owner and co-owner of a pawn shop, were reportedly having coffee on the terrace of the establishment when a third man approached them. They were reportedly connected in business, and the first two allegedly owed money to the third.

After the shooting, the perpetrator fled. According to unofficial information obtained by STA, he reportedly left the scene in a car, while still carrying a weapon and a hand grenade.

He stopped the car in the Polje area, got out, and took his own life. Police have not yet confirmed this information.

Several police units remained at the scene, gathering information about the event and its circumstances. The area is cordoned off with police tape.

Police initially announced that two people were injured, but it was later announced that they had died from their serious injuries.
