Shooting at Catholic School in the US: Two Children Killed, Several Wounded, Attacker Commits Suicide

(Patria) - A shooting occurred at the Annunciation Catholic School in the US state of Minnesota, police confirmed.

Two children, aged 8 and 10, were killed, and of the 17 wounded, 14 were children.

The attacker, armed, entered the school and opened fire. Police confirmed that he took his own life.

The FBI, state patrol, and local police are at the scene, and surrounding streets are blocked.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz confirmed that the shooting took place at the Catholic school and described the incident as a "horrific act of violence." He thanked emergency services and called for prayers for the children and teachers, while Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey activated emergency services and stated that he is "monitoring reports of horrific violence."

US President Donald Trump announced that he is "fully briefed" on the event and that the FBI is "responding quickly and is on the scene."

"Pray for all those affected," Trump said on Truth Social.

According to CBS News, the attacker was a man dressed in black and armed with a rifle. His identity and motive for the attack are not yet known.
