(Patria) - Six people, including a five-year-old girl, have been hospitalized after a mass shooting that occurred on Saturday evening in the northwestern part of Baltimore, police announced.
The incident happened around 8:45 PM at the intersection of Spaulding and Queensbury Avenues. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found four men, one woman, and a child with gunshot wounds. All were transported to nearby hospitals.
According to Police Commissioner Richard Worley, the girl was shot in the arm and her injury, fortunately, is not serious.
One of the injured, a 38-year-old man, is in critical condition and is undergoing surgery. The other injured individuals, aged between 23 and 52, along with the girl, have injuries that are not life-threatening, police stated.
Worley stated that the motive for the attack is still being determined.
"It appears people were sitting outside on the porch eating crabs when someone just started shooting," he said.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not yet released information about possible suspects.
