Shooting at golf course where Trump was located, Secret Service takes him to safety

(Patria) - The Secret Service "moved Donald Trump to safety" after a sound resembling gunshots was heard while Trump was at his golf course in Florida, Sky NBC was told.

The "New York Post" unofficially reports that agents opened fire when they noticed a man carrying something that looked like a gun barrel in his hands. It is not clear whether the man was on the golf course or nearby.

One person is being questioned in connection with the shooting reported near the Trump International Golf Course in Florida, NBC reported, citing three senior law enforcement officials.

Investigators are trying to confirm whether a gun was found in the bushes near the golf course where Trump was playing, NBC reports.

A witness says they saw "20 or more police cars rushing in from nearby streets" in front of Donald Trump's golf course in Florida.

The White House said Joe Biden and Kamala Harris "felt relief" after learning that Donald Trump was safe.

"The President and Vice President have been briefed on the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was playing golf," the White House statement said.

"They felt relief when they learned he was safe. Their team will keep them regularly informed," the statement reads.

The former US president was playing golf at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The club was closed after the incident. The New York Post reports that two people exchanged fire outside the golf course, and the shooting was not directed at Trump.

Recall, Trump was injured in an assassination attempt on July 13 this year.
