(Patria) - US police said shots were fired at the campaign office of Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in Arizona, just a week after the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
Damage from several gunshots fired shortly after midnight on Monday was discovered at the Democratic National Committee office in the Tempe neighborhood of Phoenix, local police said.
"No one was in the offices during the night, but this raises concerns for the safety of those working in that building, as well as those nearby," said police spokesman Ryan Couk.
He confirmed that police investigators are analyzing evidence collected at the scene and that additional measures have been taken to enhance the security of staff and other people working and living in the area.
According to him, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far, but authorities are investigating all possible motives.
The incident occurred after the second assassination attempt on Trump at his golf course in West Palm Beach on September 15.
Kamala Harris has scheduled a visit to Arizona on Friday as part of her campaign, and it is expected to be her second visit to this key US state since she was nominated as the presidential candidate at the Democratic National Convention in August.
