SARAJevo, (Patria) - The City of Sarajevo is preparing an unforgettable public New Year's Eve celebration for the fourth year in a row. This time under the slogan “Sarajevo2020 – the New Year's center of the region”!
The festive celebration began tonight in front of the Eternal Flame with a spectacular musical performance. Under the baton of Professor Ognjen Bomoštar, the virtuosos of the Pop Classic orchestra performed the most famous works of classical, pop, and film music.
On behalf of the host City of Sarajevo, Mayor Abdulah Skaka welcomed his fellow citizens, guests, and tourists who decided to welcome the New Year 2020 in the BiH capital.
The Pop Classic repertoire featured a diverse program, something for everyone. Visitors to the concert had the opportunity to hear the most beautiful and famous compositions from the operas Carmen and The Merry Widow, Hungarian Dance, modern popular tunes like Gangnam Style, Game of Thrones, and in this chilly Sarajevo night, to warm up with waltz, samba, tango, can-can...
The Pop Classic orchestra in front of the Eternal Flame was joined by opera soloists Aida Čorbadžić and Amir Saračević, and musical diva Jasna Gospić, performing several of her timeless hits.
The concert, which lasted a full 70 minutes, concluded with the timeless song Jingle Bells and the famous Radetzky March.
