FIRST INSTANCE Former KS Minister Amela Dautbegović Sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison

(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Sarajevo found Amela Dautbegović guilty of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority. By the first-instance verdict, she was sentenced to a prison term of two years and six months, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office announced.

Dautbegović is accused of, during June and July 2018, in her capacity as the Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton, without a justified and legally based reason, refusing to forward to the Government of Sarajevo Canton for approval the decision of the Management Board of the Cantonal Public Institution Gerontological Center on the appointment of Ismet Skoko as director, even though the decision was made after a legally conducted tender procedure. The accused then unauthorizedly instructed the Management Board verbally and in writing to annul its appointment decision, thereby preventing Ismet Skoko from holding the position of director to which he was elected in a legally conducted tender procedure.

Amela Dautbegović held the position of minister representing the Alliance for Better Future.
