FIRST-INSTANCE VERDICT Ahmed Kastrati sentenced to ten years in prison for the murder of Saša Vilušić

(Patria) - Ahmed Kastrati has been sentenced to ten years in prison in the first instance for the murder of Saša Vilušić in Tuzla.

Kastrati struck Vilušić on June 21, 2025, in a catering facility in Tuzla, and Vilušić died from the injury on July 10 last year.

As stated in the indictment, after a brief verbal and physical altercation between the injured party Vilušić and A.O. in the catering facility, in which Kastrati did not participate, he then approached Vilušić from behind and attacked him by surprise, as the injured party did not expect the attack, knowing that as a practitioner of the kickboxing martial art, he was capable of delivering particularly devastating punches, and aware that such a blow aimed at the head, a vital part of the body, could kill another person, by causing loss of consciousness and uncontrolled fall of the injured party, which he agreed to, stood up from his table and approached Vilušić from behind, from his left side, when the injured party did not have him in his field of vision, and suddenly, without any prior cause and unprovoked, by pulling Vilušić by the shoulder, turned him towards himself, and with an exceptionally strong swing of his left fist, a trained kickboxing blow, struck him in the area of the left eye.

From this blow, Vilušić immediately lost consciousness, fell on his back on the floor of the facility, suffering primarily from the impact, a fracture of the outer and posterior wall of the eye, and then, due to the uncontrolled fall and impact with the ground, multiple brain injuries, which ultimately led to the fatal outcome of the injured party on July 10, 2025, in a direct cause-and-effect relationship.
