First Police Directorate Donated an Off-Road Vehicle

In front of the premises of the First Police Directorate in Marijin Dvor, the Mayor of Centar Municipality, Dževad Bećirević, handed over the keys to an off-road vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Nermin Pećanac, reports Patria.

The vehicle was procured for the needs of the First Police Directorate, for which 57,900 marks were allocated from the budget of the Centar Municipality. According to Mayor Bećirević, the Centar Municipality has been supporting the work of the First Police Directorate for years, and the donation of the vehicle is a continuation of good cooperation.

- We allocate funds every year for equipping police units, improving their working conditions, and similar things. Now, the need for an off-road vehicle has arisen because the Centar Municipality also has a hilly and mountainous area towards Trebević and Bukovik, so such an off-road vehicle is necessary in winter conditions. I hope it will meet all the needs of the First Police Directorate and serve them well - emphasized Bećirević.

Minister Pećanac thanked the Mayor of Centar Municipality for the valuable donation and added that this raises the level of security in Sarajevo Canton.

- All municipal mayors have a special relationship with security issues, i.e., with the Police Directorate, and are often donors. Our needs in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for such vehicles are great, and this is a valuable donation for which we are particularly grateful - stressed Pećanac.
