First time in BiH and the region: Festival of Children's Art from May 2 to 8

The Festival of Children's Art (FEDU) is being held in Sarajevo from May 2 to 8 at several locations - Trg Oslobođenja-Alija Izetbegović, Youth Theatre, Sarajevo Culture Centre, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Festival of Children's Art (FEDU) is actually the first festival of its kind in BiH and the region. It is conceived as a fusion of play, education, learning, an opportunity to promote books, literature in general, theatre for children, music, and other values that arise from it. During the seven days of the festival, through constant daily activities, the festival space will be a place for play, socializing, learning, and promoting the dramatic, literary, and musical creativity of BiH and beyond.

The festival is an opportunity to affirm art and education through play and numerous programs, as well as to present new achievements in the fields of theatre, puppetry, acting, music, interactive knowledge...

The specialty of this festival lies in the fact that it is fully professionalized and competitive. Eight plays for children and youth from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, and BiH have been selected, along with six musical choirs competing with an original composition, and a competition for the best contemporary fairy tale has been announced, which has received more than thirty entries from competent literary names from BiH so far.

The awards are monetary and will be presented at the closing ceremony. The festival is held under the auspices of the Old Town Municipality and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, i.e., the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS.

The grand opening is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, at the National Theatre Sarajevo with the ballet performance "Thumbelina".

The festival is an opportunity to resist the trivialization of programs for children with joint creative efforts and to offer our youngest only the best, while stimulating our authors to write and create their works for new generations.
