First case in Tuzla Canton based on information from Sky app: Criminal group attempted to liquidate several persons in Tuzla

(Patria) - Mirsad Husović from Tuzla, leader of an organized criminal group, and members Hajrudin Tursunović from Brčko and Admir Uzunović from Živinice, were arrested today in an operation by the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office and the Criminal Police Sector of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior.

They are suspected of organized crime related to planning and organizing the murders of several persons, by using the encrypted Sky application, in the period from the end of 2019 to October 2021, together with other members of this criminal group, they conspired, planned, prepared and attempted to commit the murders of several persons in the Tuzla area.

This morning, at the order of the Prosecutor's Office and the order of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla, members of the Support Unit of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, with the assistance of the Brčko District Police, conducted searches in Živinice, Brčko, and at the Orašje Correctional Facility, where Husović was finishing his prison sentence under a previous final verdict and where he was deprived of his liberty.

In the Tuzla Canton area, this is the first investigation case for organized crime that resulted from evidence from the Sky application, which served as the basis for further investigation. The investigative team of prosecutors and the Criminal Police Sector of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, after receiving the evidence from the Sky application, conducted a months-long investigation regarding the members of the group and the aforementioned criminal offenses.

Mirsad Husović is suspected of organizing and leading this criminal group, in which Tursunović, Uzunović and other persons were members, with a clearly established hierarchy, goals and divided roles among the group members.

During this period, they exclusively used the Sky application in connection with the realization of planned liquidations of several persons, with a clearly established plan of organization, logistics, methods of execution, preparation of weapons and other things necessary for the realization of the planned liquidations. They planned, organized and attempted to commit the murders either out of revenge due to previous conflicts or hostilities with those persons, or to eliminate persons who had previously testified in certain criminal proceedings against them or persons close to them.

In all situations, Mirsad Husović organized and incited the aforementioned and other group members to commit the murders. The members had different roles in the organization and preparation of the murders, while Uzunović, among other things, was in charge of carrying out the liquidations.

In several situations, they attempted to commit murders with firearms, and certain persons were also wounded in the attempted liquidations.

After the criminal processing to be carried out by investigators of the Criminal Police Sector of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, these persons will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office where they will be examined, and a proposal will be submitted to the Cantonal Court in Tuzla for the determination of a detention measure.

The Prosecutor's Office and the Criminal Police Sector of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior will continue the investigation in this case in the coming period. Given that the investigation is ongoing, we are not able and cannot publish more detailed information about the planned and attempted murders.
