Prvi mart: Additional funds needed in FBiH budget for treatment of returnees

The coalition of civil society organizations "Prvi mart" today submitted an initiative to amend the Proposal of the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2015, in accordance with the recommendations of the Institute for Health Insurance and Reinsurance of FBiH. The planned budget allocations for co-financing the treatment costs of returnees in the RS amount to 2 million convertible marks, although the Financial Plan of the Solidarity Fund of FBiH emphasizes that at least 2.5 million KM is needed, reports the Patria news agency.

- In the 2014 budget, 5.5 million KM was planned and executed for this segment. Therefore, the largest savings were made precisely in this segment. It was warned that the Federal Institute would be forced to continue limiting the scope of rights to the amount of approved funds from the Budget of the Federation of BiH, and it was requested to increase allocations by half a million compared to the planned 2 million for this year, however, the authorities remained silent on this request - said Almir Salihović, coordinator of the "Prvi mart" coalition.

"Prvi mart" has scheduled a public forum for April 3 titled "Access to healthcare in returnee communities," which will be held in Tuzla, followed by a similar event in Sarajevo, as part of advocating for a permanent solution to rights in the area of health insurance and healthcare for returnees from FBiH to the RS. Today's initiative was sent to all representatives in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation.
