First March: Beara in prison, 400 accomplices in public services

The coalition “First March” warns that the Final Report of the Commission for Investigation of Events in and around Srebrenica in the period from 10 to 19 July 1995 names 810 persons - accomplices in the committed crime of genocide, and that a list with the names of 400 of them who still work as officials in various public services has recently been released to the public, and that the news about verdicts from the Hague Tribunal should be viewed through this lens, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- Verdicts, such as today's for Ljubiša Beara and Vujadin Popović, are significant for global awareness of the committed crime, but events in the local community, such as the appointment and election of persons who supported Hague indictees to high positions in the executive and legislative authorities, warn us that the system is still alive, that there is no confrontation with criminals, and that we live in a state where the factual situation established by genocide is accepted, only it is still being kept silent about - said Almir Salihović, coordinator of “First March”.
