(Patria) - Iranian authorities have announced the right to respond to the latest airstrikes carried out by Israel on targets within Iranian territory, reports the Tasnim news agency.

Sources close to the authorities emphasize that Iran will not remain passive towards what they have called "aggression" and warn of a proportional response to all Israeli actions.

According to reports from Iran's National Air Defense, Israeli aircraft carried out attacks on military centers in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam.

According to information available so far, there is no damage in the Iranian capital itself.

- The integrated air defense system successfully tracked and responded to this aggressive move, although certain locations suffered limited damage - they stated, adding that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The Israeli military early on Saturday announced that it had successfully carried out "precise and targeted strikes" on strategic Iranian military resources and that its aircraft had safely returned to Israel.

The attacks, according to their statement, are a response to recent Iranian actions directed against Israel and its citizens. It was also stated that the targeted facilities were missile production facilities and missile systems, which Iran uses for attacks on Israel, along with additional air capabilities.

A senior White House official assessed that this could mark the end of direct exchanges of fire between Israel and Iran, but analysts remain cautious in their forecasts due to the current tensions in the region.
