Disciplinary proceedings to be initiated against Vahid Ćosić over the murder case of Dženan Memić

The Security Commission of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, at today's session, unanimously initiated disciplinary proceedings against police commissioner Vahid Ćosić for providing false information and concealing facts about the manner of performing official duties in the murder case of Dženan Memić, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The initiative will be forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Vedran Mulabdić.

We remind you that twenty-two-year-old Dženan Memić sustained life-threatening injuries in Velika aleja on Ilidža on the night of February 8, 2016, and died on February 15 at the UKCS. When he was attacked, he was in the company of his girlfriend Alisa Mutap, who also sustained injuries.

From the very beginning, the investigation in this case was shrouded in secrecy, and the Memić family was dissatisfied with the work of the KS Prosecutor's Office and the MUP KS. On March 7 this year, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against an unknown person for the criminal offense of murder.

At the end of May, Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović were arrested in connection with this case. Ljubo Seferović is suspected of a serious criminal offense against public traffic safety and failure to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident. Bekrija Seferović is suspected of the criminal offense of obstructing evidence, and the third arrested person, Vasvija Sejdović, was released.

Ljubo headed towards his father Bekrija's house, telling him he had hit a pedestrian. He then saw that, in addition to the broken windshield, the frame, left headlight, turn signal, and fender were also damaged. The next day, he repaired the damage to the vehicle, taking parts from a scrapped van that was in the yard. Two days after repairing the vehicle, he exchanged it in Zenica.
